What this is
On 20 July 2026, students marched on Parliament in New Delhi and were met with tear gas and lathi charges. Much of what happened that day was filmed by the people it happened to, and posted publicly, on platforms that do not promise to keep anything.
20.07.2026 keeps a copy. It is a static archive of publicly posted video from that day and the months that led to it, preserved so it stays findable after the feeds have moved on.
Where the material comes from
The priority is footage posted by people who were there, rather than material from news organisations — this is a record of what participants saw and chose to publish.
Every entry keeps its attribution: the platform, the account that posted it, and a link to the original post. That link is on every item in the feed. Attribution is never stripped, and the original is always one tap away so you can check it against the source yourself.
What this is not
This is not a news organisation and it is not an investigation. Nothing here has been independently verified. What this site can tell you is that a given video was publicly posted by a given account on a given date, and that a copy has been kept — no more than that.
Descriptions are written from what is actually visible in the footage. Where a clip's framing is contested, or where the archive cannot tell what it is looking at, the description says so plainly instead of guessing. If you know better than the description does, the form below is the fastest way to fix it.
The cover image on the home page is artwork, not footage from the day. Everything in the archive itself is real material from real posts.
It is also not a social platform. There are no accounts, no comments, and no visitor uploads. There is no live feed and no backend serving pages — every page is built ahead of time from a reviewed data file.
Timeline
The timeline traces how this started — a remark in the Supreme Court in May 2026, through the exam scandals that gave it force, to the march on Parliament in July. Each entry links to the reporting it is drawn from, so you can read the sources rather than take this site's word for it.
Corrections & takedowns
If you posted something held here and you want it removed, say so and it comes down — no justification needed. Corrections and missing context are just as welcome.
Where an entry is wrong rather than unwelcome, it is corrected rather than deleted where possible. If media has to be removed, the metadata record is kept with a note, so the record of the removal survives.
